शं न इन्द्रो बृहस्पतिः
ऋते ऽपि त्वां न भविष्यन्ति सर्वे
यावानर्थ उदपाने सर्वतः संप्लुतोदके ।
तावान् सर्वेषु वेदेषु ब्राह्मणस्य विजानतः ॥
Translation

Here, the verb means something like "act" or "be engaged." eva ca here means something like "and yet" or "nevertheless."
